Bagmati beats Koshi by 131 runs in Prime Minister’s Cup cricket

Kathmandu – Bagmati Province defeated Koshi Province by 131 runs in the Prime Minister’s Cup Men’s One-Day National Cricket Tournament. Chasing a target of 241 runs set by Bagmati, Koshi was all out for 109 runs in 25 overs and three balls.

For Koshi, Ashish Bhattarai top-scored with 37 runs and Sujan Thapaliya scored 25 runs. Bagmati bowler Surya Tapang took five wickets. Similarly, Rijan Dhakal took three wickets and Sakar Gajurel took one wicket.

Earlier, Bagmati, who had won the toss and elected to bat first at the Deukhuri ground in Dang, were all out for 240 runs in 49 overs and three balls. For Bagmati, Subash Kansakar scored 39, Ashutosh Ghiroia 29, Ishan Pandey and Bipin Acharya scored 25 runs each. Similarly, captain Prithu Baskota scored 24 runs. Koshi bowlers Prakash Karki and Sujan Thapaliya took two wickets each. 

With this win, Bagmati has climbed to sixth place with six points from seven matches. Koshi has slipped to the bottom of the table with two points from the same number of matches. There are 10 teams in the competition, including three departmental teams and seven provincial teams. The competition will continue until the 16th.
