Kathmandu: Martyr’s Memorial A Division League football is starting from today. In the first match, FC Khumaltar and Friends Club will compete at Dashrath Stadium.
The league will be inaugurated by Balendra Shah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The grand opening ceremony, which will start from 4:30 pm, will be attended by various celebrities and various politicians and special guests from various fields.
The league will be played in a double round robin format, while matches will also be played at Chasal Stadium and Anfa Complex in Satdobato.
The marketing, broadcasting and digital and ticketing rights of the league have been signed with MDC AC Sports Limited. The games will be broadcast live on Space 4K television.
According to a meeting held between 14 ANFA and 14 ‘A’ division clubs last January, the league will start from 19th February.
In the league, Sankata Club, Nepal Police Club, Satdobato Youth Club, Tribhuvan Army, NRT, Jaulakhel Youth Club, Manang Masyangdi, Three Star, Khumaltar, Church Boys and other teams will compete this time.
ANFA has already decided to give the club 25 million rupees for the preparation expenses of the league.
According to ANFA, this time, the winner of the league will be awarded Rs. 75 lakh, the runner-up with Rs. 50 lakh and the third place with Rs. 2.5 lakh.
