9th National Games: Anish won the first gold for Gandaki Province in a marathon

Kaski: Gandaki province’s Anish Thapamgar has won a gold medal in the marathon race under athletics.

 

Anish won the gold medal by completing the marathon 42.195 km in 2 hours 22 minutes 54 seconds.

Krishna Basnet of Tribhuvan Army Club won the silver medal out of 18 participants in the marathon competition. He completed it in 2 hours 23 minutes 14 seconds.

Santosh Vikram Bista of the Armed Police Force APF won the bronze medal by completing the distance in 2 hours 30 minutes 54 minutes. It is the first record in the history of national sports that Gandaki has won a gold medal in a marathon.

Similarly, Vrindradhan Shrestha of the Armed Police Force APF won the gold medal in the women’s marathon race. Brindra completed the distance of 42.195 km in 2 hours 57 minutes 23 seconds and won the gold medal.

Army’s Vishwarupa Budha, who won the silver medal, completed the distance in 3 hours and 35 seconds. Police’s Rekha Bista finished in 3 hours 1 minute 35 seconds and won the bronze.
