Kathmandu: Argentina has reached the semifinals of the Copa America. Argentina entered the semifinals by defeating Ecuador 3-0 in the previous morning’s match.
Rodrigo de Paul, Lautaro Martinez and Lionel Messi scored one goal each for Argentina. Martinez scored in the 84th minute for Argentina, who took the lead through Rodrigo’s goal in the 40th minute, while Lionel Messi scored from a free kick in the 93rd minute of injury time.
Despite getting a chance to score in a very competitive game, Ecuador is out of the competition. Argentina will now play Colombia for a place in the final. Colombia beat Uruguay 4-2 in a tiebreaker to advance to the semifinals.
The game was decided by a tiebreaker after both teams failed to score in the allotted and added time. Uruguay is out of the competition.
