Kathmandu: Brazil and Mexico will meet in the semi-finals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan. Brazil and Mexico secured the semifinal match by winning the quarterfinal match on Saturday.
Spain and host Japan have reached the semifinals from Saturday’s quarterfinal match. Brazil, who won gold at the Rio Olympics five years ago, beat Egypt 1-0 to reach the semifinals.
Mathews Kunsah scored the only goal for Brazil. He scored the decisive goal in the 37th minute of the game through a pass from Richardson.
In the fourth quarterfinal, Mexico defeated South Korea 6-3 to secure a place in the last four. Henry Martin and Francisco Cordova scored twice each for Mexico in the game at the Nissan Stadium, while Luis Romeo and Eduardo Aguirre equalized. Dong Keong Lee scored both goals for South Korea.
