KATHMANDU: Brazil and the Netherlands have made a great start in women’s football in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
In last night’s match, Brazil’s women’s football team defeated China 5-0. Similarly, the Netherlands has registered a wide victory over Zambia. The Netherlands, playing in the Olympics for the first time, defeated Zambia 10-3.
In the Netherlands’ victory, Vivieni Midema scored four goals, including a hat-trick, while Leakey Martin scored two goals and Sanis van de Sanden, Jill Rudd, Lineth Weinstein and Victoria Pelova scored one goal each. In the same match last night, Sweden defeated USA 3-0 while Britain defeated Chile 2-0.
New Zealand lost 2-1 to Australia, while Japan and Canada drew 1-1.
