Kathmandu: Nepali national women’s football team head coach Gary Phillips said that the team’s goal is to be selected in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup-2022.
Speaking to media persons at ANFA Complex Satdobato on Thursday, coach Phillips said that his goal is to be selected in the Asian Cup.
Coach Phillips says the selection game will be better because of the combination of new and experienced players and the improvement in the training of the players on a daily basis.
The Nepali women’s team will participate in the selection competition for the Asian Cup to be held in Uzbekistan. Captain Renuka Nagarkoti said that the team has a combination of new and experienced players.
Nepal is in Group F in the selection. Nepal’s group includes the Philippines and Hong Kong. Nepal will start the selection by playing with the Philippines. The match between Nepal and the Philippines will be played on September 20.
Similarly, Nepal will face Hong Kong in the second match. The game will be played on 5 September. The top team of the group will play the Asian Cup in India next year.
