Dal Bahadur wins the title of Pathibhara Marathon

Taplejung: Dal Bahadur Kunwar has won the title of the Taplejung-Pathibhara marathon race. Kunwar won the race by completing the prescribed distance of 42 km in 4 hours 12 minutes 27 seconds, beating 134 participants in the race.

Kunwar has received a certificate with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh 51 thousand 151. Khagendra Bahadur Bhat of Tribhuvan Army Club came second in the race.

He completed the prescribed distance in 4 hours 12 minutes 57 seconds. Bhat has received a prize of one lakh one thousand one hundred and eleven rupees.

Similarly, Rajan Meyongba finished third by completing the set distance in 4 hours 12 minutes 58 seconds. He received a prize of 51 thousand one hundred and 11 rupees.

Similarly, Sampalmu Sherpa of Taplejung Maivakhola rural municipality 6 has won the title of Pathibhara women’s half marathon competition. Sherpa became the first by covering the set distance of 21 km in three hours and 41 minutes. Sherpa received the certificate with 81 thousand one hundred and 11 rupees.

Similarly, Chhembimaya Rai of Bhojpur has become second. She covered the distance in four hours and nine minutes and received 51 thousand one hundred and 11 rupees.

Similarly, 16-year-old Pembalamu Sherpa from Mikwakhola Rural Municipality 3 Libang was third. She covered the distance in 4 hours 31 minutes 54 seconds and received 31 thousand one hundred and 11 rupees.

The marathon was held today on the third day of the Taplejung Marathon and Tourism Festival.
