Kathmandu: Hong Kong has won the T20 Asia Cup qualifiers for the second time in a row. By defeating Kuwait by 8 wickets, Hong Kong has strengthened its chances of qualifying for the Asia Cup.
Chasing a winning target of 152 runs for victory, Hong Kong found themselves losing 2 wickets in 17 overs and 4 balls.
Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat remained unbeaten on 53 runs. Captain Nizakat Khan was dismissed for 50 runs.
Mohammad Shafiq and Adnan Idris of Kuwait took one wicket each. Before that, Kuwait lost the toss and scored 151 runs losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Kuwait’s Edson Silva scored a half-century of 56 runs. Hong Kong’s Aziz Khan, Ehsan Khan and Yaseem Murtaza took two wickets each.
Hong Kong defeated Singapore by 8 wickets in the first match. Hong Kong will play the UAE tonight in the final and decisive match.
