KATHMANDU: Ireland Men have levelled the ODI series at 1-1 after a comfortable five-wicket victory against the West Indies in the second one-day international at Sabina Park in Kingston today.
The target of 123 runs given by Afghanistan for victory was found by Ireland by losing 5 wickets with 6 balls remaining and adding 125 runs.
Captain Andy Balbirnie scored 46 runs for Ireland. Similarly, Larkan Takir scored 27 runs, George Dockrell scored 25 runs.
For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi took 2 wickets while Mujeeb ur Rehman, Fazalhaq Farooqui and Naveen ul Haq took one wicket each.
Afghanistan, who batted before that, scored 122 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled over.
For Afghanistan, Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 36 runs, Ibrahim Jordan scored 17 runs and Azmutullah Omarzai scored 11 runs.
Ireland’s Josh Little, Mark Adair, Curtis Kaffer and Greath Delaney took 2 wickets each. In the first match too, Ireland won by 7 wickets. The third match between these two is happening today.
