Agency: Italy’s Lemont Marcel Jacob has won a gold medal in the men’s 100-meter dash at the Tokyo Olympics. Jacob won the gold medal, trailing title contender Fred Curly by 0.4 seconds.
He completed the required distance in 9.8 seconds. In the absence of the world’s fastest-running world champions, Christian Coleman and Trevon Bromel, Jacob won the gold medal unexpectedly.
The title race was opened after Eugene Bolt of Jamaica, the star player of the 100 meters, retired.
