Man United knocked out after lost to Atletico Madrid 1-0

KATHMANDU: Renan Lodi’s goal helped Spanish club Atletico Madrid beat Manchester United 1-0 in the 2nd Ligue of UEFA Champions League on Wednesday morning.

The victory in the second leg of the last 16 at Old Trafford gave Atletico a 2–1 lead overall. This defeat is sure to be even worse and more memorable for Manchester this season.

Brazilians Lodi scored in four minutes before the end of the first half. Manchester’s ended chances of winning any title of the season.

Manchester has been without a title since 2017.
Manchester are currently fifth in the Premier League. The team struggling to keep pace will now have to work hard to secure a place in the top four.

Atletico have also failed to do well in the domestic league this season, but they did not have to work hard to beat Manchester.

Benfica also inter in the quarterfinals after beating Ajax 1-0 at home on Tuesday in the second leg of their last-16 final.

With a header from Darwin Nunez in the 77th minute to secure a place in the quarterfinals. Benfica won 3–2 overall. Earlier, the match in Lisbon ended in a 2-2 draw.
