Nepal beat Kenya by 4 wickets, 2-1 in the series

Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Kenya by 4 wickets in the third T20I. With this, Nepal has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Nepal completed the target of 156 runs given by the home team Kenya in Nairobi on Sunday by losing 6 wickets after playing 19.3 overs.

Gyanendra Malla scored the highest 46 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Arjun Saud, who made his T20I debut, scored 35 runs, Rohit Kumar Paudel scored 29 runs and Pawan Sarraf added 20 runs. Adil Alam scored 16 runs.

Nepal had a good start while chasing the target. Debutant Arjun Saud and Pawan Saraf shared a partnership of 35 runs for the first wicket.

But Pawan Sarraf, who played the third match in a row, could not make a big score. He scored 20 runs while hitting 3 fours and 1 six off 12 balls.

Young wicketkeeper batsman Arjun Saud, who made his debut playing in place of regular opener and wicketkeeper Asif Sheikh, shared a 42-run partnership with Gyanendra Malla for the second wicket.

He was bowled in the 11th over when he tried to play forward. Arjun played 31 balls and scored 35 runs with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Dipendra Singh Airi, who batted at number four, scored only 6 runs in 5 balls. Dipendra, who batted at number five in the previous two matches, after a long time was placed at number four, but could not stay at the crease for a long time.

Rohit Kumar Paudel, who had previously batted at number four, batted at number five today. Gyanendra and Rohit shared 54 runs for the fourth wicket and brought Nepal closer to victory.

Rohit played 18 balls and scored 29 runs with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. Gyanendra, who missed his half-century by four runs, played 41 lobs and scored 46 runs with the help of 4 fours and 1 six.

Adil Alam, who batted aggressively, scored 16 runs by hitting 2 fours and 1 six in 7 balls. Adil got out in the process of hitting a big shot. Arif Shaikh scored 4 unbeaten runs.

Eugene Ochieng and Viraj Patel took 2 wickets each for Kenya. Before that, after Rakip Patel and Irfan Karim scored half-centuries, Kenya won the toss and scored 156 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.

The pair shared an unbeaten 127 run partnership for the third wicket. Patel scored an unbeaten 73 runs from 43 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Similarly, Karimab added 55 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes while playing 47 balls. Kenya scored 69 runs in the last five overs.

Although Nepal dismissed both the Kenyan openers in the power play, Patel and Karimsum Nepali bowlers looked weak.

Collins Obuya scored 14 runs and Sukdeep Singh was dismissed for 8 runs. Sompal Kami and Badil Alam took one wicket each for Nepal.

Earlier, while Nepal won the first match by 5 wickets, Nepal lost to Kenya by 18 runs in the second match. The fourth match will be played on Monday.
