Kathmandu: The Nepali women’s cricket team defeated Bhutan by eight wickets in the second match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers.
Nepal met the target of 62 runs set by Bhutan in Dubai by losing two wickets in just eight overs. Indu Burma scored 18 not out, Sita Rana Magar 17, Rubina Chhetri 10 and Kajal Joshi eight for Nepal.
Earlier, batting first, Bhutan lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 61 runs. On the bowling side, Nepal’s Sita Rana Magar took three wickets for 10 runs in four overs. Similarly, Karuna Bhandari took one wicket.
In the first match, Nepal lost to Hong Kong yesterday. Six teams including Nepal, Bhutan, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia and UAE are participating in the selection. The top ranked team will make it to the global selection of the World Cup.
