Kathmandu: Nepal and Malaysia are playing today for ACC U-16 East Zone Cup cricket title. Nepal is batting against home team Malaysia.

Nepal has won the toss and decided to bat first in the 35 over match.
Nepal, who won both matches in Group A, defeated Singapore by 97 runs in the semi-final and qualified for the final.
On the other hand, the home team Malaysia defeated Group B winner Hong Kong by 78 runs in the semi-final and confirmed the meeting with Nepal. Malaysia was also in Group A.
In the group stage, Nepal won by 84 runs against Malaysia.
Nepal is undefeated in the tournament so far, while Malaysia was defeated only by Nepal.
Nepal’s goal is to continue the winning streak and lift the title, while Malaysia wants to avenge the defeat against Nepal.
In the ACC U-16 East Zone as well, Nepal is aiming for a hat-trick by winning the title and Nepal is just one step away from achieving that goal.
The Asian Cricket Council had earlier organized the tournament in the name of ACC U-16 Eastern Region and Nepal won the title consecutively in 2017 and 2019.
In 2017, under the captaincy of Rit Gautam, Nepal won the title by defeating Singapore in the final, and in 2019, it became the champion by defeating Malaysia itself.
Niraj Kumar Yadav scored 124 runs with a half century. He is in the sixth position among the highest run scorers. Similarly, Suryanshu Koirala has scored 112 runs in three matches and is in the ninth position.
As for bowling, Santosh Yadav and Ashok Dhami of Nepal have taken 8 wickets and are third and fourth among the most wicket takers. Both have the opportunity to become the highest wicket-taker in the final.
Muhammad Akram of Malaysia has also taken the same 8 wickets and he is in the fifth position.
