Kathmandu: Nepal is competing in the second friendly match against India on Sunday (today).
Nepal, which is preparing for the SAAF Championship to be held in Maldives, has already played its first friendly match against India on Thursday.
The second match will be played tomorrow at 5 pm at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor. In the first friendly match, Nepal and India drew 1-1.
Nepal was held to a draw with India as it could not maintain its initial lead at home. In the first friendly match against India, Nepal had a very good performance.
However, the head coach of the Nepali national football team Abdullah Almutairi had apologized to the Nepali supporters.
Almutairi had apologized saying that he could not make Nepalis happy through the game. Midfielder Nitin Thapa made his national team debut in the first friendly match against India. Entering the field in place of Tej Tamang in the 85th minute of the match, Nitin made his debut.
It is said that coach Almutairi can give opportunity to some new faces in tomorrow’s game as well. The SAAF Championship is scheduled to be held from 15 to 30 September.
After the friendly match with India, the Nepali national football team will go to Qatar to prepare for the cleanup. After a few weeks of preparation in Qatar, the team will leave for Maldives.
