Nepal lost by 18 runs in the 2nd T20I match against Kenya

Kathmandu: Nepal lost by 18 runs in the second T20 international match against Kenya. Chasing the target of 133 runs given by the home team Kenya in the match on Friday.

Nepal was bowled out for 114 runs in 19 overs. Kenya, who lost the first match, won the second match and tied the five-match series 1-1.

Arif Sheikh scored the highest 25 runs for Nepal. Rohit Poudel and Adil Alam scored 20 each and Pawan Sarraf scored 19 runs.

Other players could not score runs in double figures. Nepal’s batting start was not good once again. Nepal lost 2 wickets for 11 runs after opener Asif Sheikh was dismissed in the third over and Gyanendra Malla was dismissed in the fourth over.

Then Pawan and Rohit started the innings. But Nepal lost three consecutive wickets from the ninth to the 11th over.

After Pawan was dismissed in the ninth over, Dipendra Singh Airi (3 runs) in the tenth over and Rohit in the 11th over, Nepal reached 59-5.

After that, Arif Sheikh and Adil Balam started the innings of Nepal aggressively. But Adil got out after scoring 20 runs in the 16th over.

Arif Shaikh got run out in the 17th over and Karan KC got out in the next over after hitting a big shot. Captain Sandeep Lamichhane was dismissed in the 19th over after scoring 8 runs.

Kenya’s Emmanuel Bundy, Lucas Oluch and Viraj Patel took 2 wickets each.

Before that, at the Gymkhan Cricket Ground in Nairobi, after Nepal won the toss and chose to field, Kenya batted first and scored 132 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

For Kenya Rakip Patel scored 35 runs while Nehemiah Odiembo scored 31 and Irfan scored 22 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airi took 3 wickets each. Similarly, Karan KC took 2 wickets and Pawan Sarraf took 1 wicket. Dipendra Singh Airi made one not out. In the first T20, Nepal defeated Kenya by 5 wickets.
