Nepal lost to Lebanon 4-0 in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers


Kathmandu: Nepal lost to Lebanon 4-0 in the final match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers match played at the Republican Central Stadium in Tajikistan on Sunday.

Jean Farran scored twice to give Lebanon the victory, while Mohamed Nasir and Mohamed Heather scored one goal each. Nepal remained undefeated in the competition.

In Group B, Nepal lost 4-0 to Iran in the first match and 6-0 to Tajikistan in the second match. Nepal was at the bottom of the group. Lebanon finished third with three points. Tajikistan tops the group with six points, followed by Iran with six points.

The match between Tajikistan and Iran will be played today. The top team in the group will play in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup.

Similarly, the best four teams from the second team will also be selected in the U-23 Asian Cup. The final round of the tournament in Uzbekistan is scheduled to take place from June 1 to 19, 2022.
