U19 Cricket World Cup-Qualifier: Nepal set a target of 192 runs to UAE

Kathmandu – Nepal has given a target of 192 runs to UAE at their home ground in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Asia Qualifiers.

After losing the toss and batting at the Eden Gardens in Ajman, Nepal were bowled out for 191 runs in 5 balls in 48 overs. Captain Dev Khanal scored the highest 51 runs for Nepal.

Similarly, Vishal Vikram KC scored 38 runs and Uttam Rangu Thapa Magar scored 36 runs. On the bowling side, Dhruva Parashar of UAE took 3 wickets and Harit Hari Shetty and Ion Afzal Khan took 2 wickets each. Nepal will bowl in a while.

Nepal has won all the opening four matches. UAE is also an unbeaten team in four matches. As there are 8 points in four matches, today’s match will be decisive to reach the World Cup.

Nepal defeated Singapore by 96 wickets, Kuwait by 243 wickets, Hong Kong by 9 wickets and Malaysia by 10 wickets.

Similarly, UAE defeated Malaysia by 7 wickets, Hong Kong by 163 runs, Singapore and Kuwait by 8/8 wickets.

In the 2019 Asian qualifiers, Nepal was defeated by UAE by one run based on the Duckworth-Lewis method and did not get to play two World Cups.

The winning team between Nepal and UAE will play the Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2024.
