Kathmandu: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has proposed to organize women’s SAAF championship football in August.
ANFA has proposed to hold the SAAF Championship in Kathmandu from 13 to 25 September.
ANFA general secretary Kiran Rai proposed the date during a meeting with South Asian Football Confederation (SAF) general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Friday.
ANFA has stated that SAAF Secretary General Helal is positive on the proposed date. ANFA will present a formal proposal for the Women’s Saaf project at the Saaf Congress on Saturday.
If SAAF is approved by the Congress, Mahila Saaf will be organized in Nepal. Saaf’s Congress is attended by General Secretary Rai from Nepal, New Road Team Chairman Sundar Narasimha Joshi and former ANFA member Vikas Narayan Shrestha.
Nepal had earlier organized the fifth edition of Mahila Saaf. India had won the SAAF title held in Biratnagar. Nepal lost to India in the final.
