Nepali football team leaves for Qatar to play FC Asian Cup qualifiers

Kathmandu: The Nepali national football team is going to Qatar today to play in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The Nepali team is going to Qatar at 6 pm today to prepare for the slection in Kuwait.

From there, the Nepali team will leave for Kuwait on June 4. Head coach Abdullah Almutairi has announced the squad, excluding 11 senior players, including captain Kiran Chemjong. ANFA has appointed Navyug Shrestha as the captain. Nepal is in Group A of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

Nepal’s group includes Kuwait, Indonesia and Jordan. The top team of each group and the best second team will be selected in the Asian Cup-2023 to be held in China.
