Barcelona: Atletico Madrid has displayed the jersey of Nepal’s national football team at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. Named ‘Football for Peace Exhibition’, Nepal’s football jersey is also on display.
More than 80 embassies attended the event, a joint initiative of La Liga and the Academy of Diplomacy. The embassies displayed the jerseys of their respective national football teams in support of the ‘Football for Peace’ campaign.
On behalf of Nepal, Ambassador Dawa Futi Sherpa participated in the program, according to the Nepali Embassy in Madrid.
The two-day exhibition, on Wednesday and Thursday, is part of the fifth edition of the World Football Summit.
Speaking at the event in Atletico Madrid, President Enrique Cerejo said football brings people from all over the world together. “Football is a bridge of harmony between people and nations.
We want to seize this opportunity to make progress and advancement, to create a better world through sports and especially football, ”said President Enrique Cerezo.
Distinguished personalities from La Liga, Academy of Diplomacy also addressed the event.
