Netherlands enteres super eight after defeating Switzerland 4-1

Kathmandu: Defending champion the Netherlands have needed a late surge to beat Switzerland 4-1 and guarantee a place in the European Championship quarterfinals on Sunday.

The Netherlands has entered the quarter-finals after defeating Switzerland 4-1 in the last match of Group C in the ongoing tournament in England.

In the next match of this group, Sweden defeated Portugal 5-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals.

Although both teams scored 7-7 points from the three matches of the group, Sweden became the group winner based on the goal difference, while the Netherlands will become the runner-up.

The Netherlands will now play Group D winners France in the quarterfinals. Sweden’s quarterfinal match will be decided after the Saturday night games.

The group stage matches of the Eurocup Women’s Football Championship will end on Tuesday.

In the final matches of Group D, France and Iceland and Italy and Belgium will meet on Saturday night.
