NSC invites for the appointment of Member Secretary

Kathmandu: Applications have been invited for the appointment of Member Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC). The Ministry of Youth and Sports issued a statement on Saturday calling for applications for the post of member secretary of NSC.

At the same time, the process of appointing a new member secretary of NSC has moved ahead. The ministry has stated that applications have been invited for the appointment of member secretary as per sub-section (3) of section 17 of the National Sports Development Act, 2077 BS.

The ministry has stated that a person who qualifies to become a member secretary must submit an application within seven days.

The post of member secretary of NSC has become vacant after the government dismissed Ramesh Kumar Silwal on November 20. After dismissing Silwal, the ministry formed a committee to recommend member secretaries.

Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwar Gahatraj has formed a three-member committee under the coordination of Joint Secretary Kamal Prasad Pokhrel to recommend Member Secretary.

Kamala Gyawali and Hari Bahadur Shrestha are members of the committee. At present, Bishnu Dhakal is the acting member secretary of NSC.
