Kathmandu: Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is leaving for the UK on Thursday to play ‘The Hundred’ cricket tournament. Sandeep will leave for London on a Turkish Airlines flight after 11 pm, his manager Raman Siwakoti told Ujjyalo.
After going to UK, Sandeep will stay in quarantine for 10 days. Lamichhane will be able to play in this tournament only after the report of two PCR tests is negative during this period.
Sandeep will play for The Oval Invisible in The Hundred. Lamichhane’s team Oval will play the opening game against Manchester Arginals. This is the first time the tournament has been hosted by the UK and Wales Cricket. The competition will start on July 22.
The competition, which was supposed to take place last year, was postponed due to the corona virus epidemic. Lamichhane has been signed for The One Hundred Cricket Tournament for लाख 100,000. He will play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after The Hundred, said manager Siwakoti.
