Kathmandu: Nepal Army has become the team champion in the 44th National Athletics Championship on Sunday.

The Army won 18 gold, 12 silver and 5 bronze medals to lift the title of team champion.
In the competition organized by Nepal Athletics Association at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.
APF Club came second with 9 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals. Bagmati Pradesh came third with 3 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Nepal Police Club won the remaining two gold medals in the competition for 32 gold medals. Police also won 3 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Six teams were without gold in the competition in which 10 teams from seven states and three departments participated.
In the men’s competition, Shivraj Parki of APF and Jayarani Tharu of the women’s champion team were declared the best players.
Shivraj won 3 gold and 1 silver. Jayarani captured 4 gold medals including 2 records.
