Kathmandu – Sri Lanka has beaten Netherlands at Lucknow today in the ICC One Day Cricket World Cup for the first time.

Sri Lanka defeated the Netherlands by 5 wickets in the match held in Lucknow on Saturday. Sri Lanka met the target of 263 runs given by the Netherlands by losing 5 wickets in 48 overs and 2 balls.

Sadira Samarawickrama of Sri Lanka scored 91 not out. Similarly, Pathum Nissanka scored 54 runs and Charith Aslanka scored 44 runs. On the bowling side, Aryan Dutt from the Netherlands took 3 wickets.

Earlier, the Netherlands, who won the toss and batted, scored 262 runs in 49 overs and were all out. Sybrand Ingelbrecht from the Netherlands scored 70 and Beek scored 59 runs. On the bowling side, Dilshan Madushanka and Kasun Rajitha of Sri Lanka took 4/4 wickets.

With this win, Sri Lanka is in ninth place with 2 points in 4 matches. Netherlands is in eighth position based on net run rate with 2 points in the same match.
