Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 9 wickets in the ICC U-19 Men’s World Cup Asia Qualifier on Monday and achieved its third consecutive victory.

Nepal completed the target of 121 runs given by Hong Kong at Malek Cricket Ground in Ajman, UAE, losing 1 wicket in 22.1 overs.
Akash Tripathi, the opener for Nepal, remained unbeaten and scored the highest 64 runs. Uttam Thapa Magar scored an unbeaten 39 runs.
Akash, who won by hitting sixes, hit 5 fours and 4 sixes while playing 72 balls. Uttam played 50 balls and hit 4 fours.
After adding 26 runs, Nepal lost its first wicket in the sixth over. But Akash shared an unbeaten 98 runs for the second wicket with Uttam Thapa Magar and gave Nepal victory. Opener Arjun Kumal added 16 runs.
Hong Kong’s Daniel Morgan mop took 1 wicket. Hong Kong, who won the toss and batted first, were all out for 120 runs in 46.3 overs against the tight bowling of the Nepali bowler.
For Hong Kong, Partha Bhagwat scored 36 runs with 4 fours while playing 93 balls. Mohammad Aliyan Zahir scored 29 runs.
Bhagwat and Zahir shared 47 runs for the fifth wicket for Hong Kong. Nepal’s Hemant Dhami, Subash Bhandari and Dipesh Kandel bowled brilliantly to bowl out Hong Kong.
