Kathmandu: The 9th Central General Assembly and Working Committee Election of the Nepal Volleyball Association will be held on Bhadra 22 B.S.
The eighth plenary meeting of the union working committee held today in Bhaktapur has announced the date for holding the general meeting in Kathmandu.
The term of office of the current working committee of the Volleyball Association has ended in June 2077.
Elections could not be held for two years due to the corona epidemic and the confusion of the new Sports Act.

According to the provisions of the National Sports Development Act 2077, the National Sports Association was given a deadline of June 17 to hold the central elections by implementing a federal structure.
Since the election cannot be held at that time, the Nepal Act must be amended to give legal recognition to the subsequent elections.
Rakhep has said that he has written to the ministry to amend the Act. If the law is not amended by August 22, the volleyball election may be affected.
Before the new law was promulgated in June 2077, the Nepal Volleyball Association had amended the constitution in 2074 and implemented the federal structure.
According to Rakhep’s instructions and approval, the association has completed the convention of 6 provinces and 77 districts before June 17. The representatives chosen on the same basis will vote in the central elections.
Niroz Maske, the current vice-president of the volleyball association, has announced her candidacy for the post of president.
In the 39-member working committee, 25 people will be elected as the chairman, 5 vice-chairmen, general secretary, 7 secretaries, treasurer and 10 members.
Vice President Maske informed that the full meeting had implemented the suggestions made by the Legislative Amendment Working Group.
A decision has been made to change the modality of giving voting rights to clubs as per the provisions of the statute. This proposal will be taken to the General Assembly for approval.
However, the new system will not be implemented in the upcoming elections.
The session and election of Bagmati Province could not be held at the time determined by the Volleyball Association.
Maske informed that an inquiry committee has been formed with Bhim Oli and Sridhar Sharma as members under the coordination of the vice president of the association, Upendra Yadav, to resolve the dispute and present alternatives.
For the central election of the Volleyball Association, there is a provision of 1-1 voting rights from all 77 districts.
There will be 14 votes from seven provinces at the rate of 2-2. 39 from the current central working committee, 1 from the referee commission and captain of the national team (men and women).
More three clubs (Dhorpatan Volleyball Training Center, New Diamond Sports Club and Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center) will have voting rights in the election of the association.
