Kathmandu: West Indies, the second Twenty20 home team against Australia, have won by 56 runs. With the second win in a row, the West Indies have taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match Twenty20 series. Batting first after losing the toss, West Indies lost four wickets in the allotted overs and scored 196 runs.
Chasing a target of 197 for victory, Australia were bowled out for 140 in 19 overs. For Australia, Mitchell Mars played a half-century innings of 54 runs but the team could not win. Hayden Walls of West Indies took 3 wickets and Sheldon Cottrell took 2 wickets. Shimram Hitmeyer of West Indies played a half century innings of 61 runs. Similarly, Dwayne Bravo added 47 runs while remaining unbeaten. Lendl Simmons scored 30 runs.
Andre Russell remained unbeaten on 24 runs. Australia’s Jose Hazlewood, Aston Agar and Mitchell Mars took 1/1 wickets. West Indies won the first game by 18 runs. The third game will be on Tuesday.
