Captain Paudel’s Valiant 85 Holds Nepal Together After Airee’s Dismissal

Kathmandu: Captain Rohit Paudel remains the cornerstone of Nepal’s innings with a valiant 85*, but the momentum has been checked by the crucial run-out of Dipendra Singh Airee. In their ICC CWC League 2 match against the UAE, Nepal is currently 186 for 6 in 41.2 overs.

After choosing to bat first, Nepal’s innings has been anchored by Paudel, who has masterfully compiled his runs from 105 deliveries, including five fours and a six.

However, just as he and Airee were building a partnership to launch a final assault, Airee was run out for a quick 23 off 28 balls, bringing his promising cameo to an end.

Earlier, Nepal received important contributions from wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh, who scored 35, and Aarif Sheikh with 27. For the UAE, Junaid Siddique has been effective with two key wickets.

With Paudel still at the crease, Nepal will rely heavily on their captain to guide the lower order through the remaining overs to post a challenging total.
