KATHMANDU: Portugal has beaten Turkey kept their hopes of reaching the 2022 World Cup alive. As they beat Turkey after the visitors missed a late penalty in the play-off semi-final in Porto.

European champions Italy will not be able to play in the upcoming World Cup. Italy will not be able to play in the World Cup after losing to North Macedonia in the European playoffs last night. Italy had to beat North Macedonia last night to keep their World Cup hopes alive but lost 1-0.

Trajkowski scored in the last minute of injury time for North Macedonia. Italy had also lost the previous World Cup. In another match played last night, Portugal defeated Turkey 3-1 and strengthened its chances of qualifying for the World Cup.

Otavio, Jota and Nunes scored for Portugal. The winner of next Tuesday’s game between Portugal and North Macedonia will advance to the World Cup.
