KATHMANDU: Former spokesperson of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Kiran Rai has said that the allegation made by head coach Abdullah Almutairi against vice-president Pankaj Vikram Nemwang on social media was beyond the discipline of the coach.
Giving a statement to the investigation committee formed by the National Sports Council to investigate the football dispute on Tuesday, former spokesperson Rai said that the coach’s statement was out of discipline.
A week ago, ANFA decided to hand over the investigation of the incident to the Ministry of Sports. On the same basis, the Sports Ministry had directed Rakhep to form a committee to investigate.
He said, “I feel that the accusation leveled by the coach against the vice-president of the organization has gone beyond discipline. I feel that the coach has made an error.”
However, ANFA spokesperson Kiran Rai had resigned saying that there was no work in ANFA to resolve its own investigation, disciplinary committee and other issues as mentioned in the constitution.
However, spokesperson Kiran Rai, who was called for the statement, said that the statement was true / factual, without taking sides.
The probe committee also took statements from ANFA chairman Karmachhiring Sherpa on Tuesday. The committee has prepared a list to take statements from 14 people directly and indirectly involved in the incident. The list also includes senior vice presidents and head coaches directly involved in the incident. Coach Almutairi is in Pokhara.
As per the direction of the ministry, Rakhep had formed a seven-member investigation committee under the coordination of board member Purendra Bikram Lakhe.
The Ministry of Sports had directed the committee to submit the investigation report within seven days.
