KATHMANDU: Asmita Ale has joined British football club Tottenham.
Ale, the 19-year-old daughter of a Bhupu Gurkha soldier, has signed a contract with the club to play for Tottenham until 2023. Prior to that, she was affiliated with Aston Villa for 2021 and 2022.
Ale had participated in 18 games from this club. She represented England in the 2019 Under-19 European Champions Final in Scotland.
She will be wearing the number 13 jersey representing the club. Ale, who has managed to reach the top in women’s football in a short period of time, has been praised by Tottenham for her good performance at Aston Villa.
After signing with Tottenham, Asmita said that the name of the club is very high and she will learn a lot from the club’s coach Rehani and will take the team to the forefront. Rehani, the head coach of the club, said that Asmita was a brilliant young player.
