Kathmandu: England defeated Pakistan by nine wickets in the first ODI. England met the target of 142 runs set by Pakistan by losing only one wicket in 21 overs.
David Malone contributed 68 runs in England’s victory while Jacques Crawley scored a half century of 58 runs. Pakistan’s Sahin Sah Afridi took one wicket. Earlier, batting first, Pakistan were bowled out for 141 in 35 overs.
Fakhar Zaman added 47, Shadav Khan 30 and Sohib Maqsood 19 for Pakistan. England’s Shakib Mahmood took four wickets while Craig Overton and Matt Parkinson took two wickets each. With the win, England has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The second match between the two teams will be played tomorrow.
