Agency: England’s Tottenham Hotspur have lost in the qualifying round of the Europa Conference League. Local team Pacos de Ferreira beat Tottenham 1-0 in the first leg of the play-off in Portugal last night.

In this game, coach Nuno Espirito Santo made a complete change in Tottenham’s starting eleven. All 11 players who played in last week’s Premier League defeat to Manchester City were dropped from the starting XI.

Weak Tottenham could not make a single ‘on-target’ attack against Portugal’s opponent during the game.

In the other match of the conference league, AS Roma of Italy defeated Trabzonsper of Turkey 2-1.

It is through this game that coach Jose Mourinho has made his debut for Italian club Roma. In other games played last night, Union Berlin of Germany, Ghent of Belgium and Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel have also won.

The UEFA Conference League football is the third division competition of European clubs. After the top division Champions League and the second division Europa League, the third division conference league has been started from this year.
