Vieira has a youthful squad at his disposal, after a number of senior players did not make the trip Down Under.
“We have young players who are really hungry to show that they want to be part of what we are trying to do in our football club,” said the Frenchman.
The “Young players who want to show that they want to be part of the first team and they want to be given a chance.
“Of course, we have those players like Jordan Ayew, JP Mateta, Edouard and Joel Ward, who want to show that they want to be a part of the starting XI.
Players always have something to prove and I think they can be guaranteed that we will give United a good game.”
The likes of ex-Red Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi are not in the squad. “I think it’s not the ideal situation for a manager to have so many players behind,” admitted Vieira.
“But, on the other hand, we are really pleased as a football club, and myself as a manager, to be part of this tour.”
