KATHMANDU: Argentina captain Lionel Messi has signed a two-year contract with French club Paris Saint-Germain PSG.
Messi has signed a free transfer deal with PSG after failing to renew his contract with Spanish club Barcelona. Speaking in an interview program after his contract with PSG, he said that his goals and vision of PSG are similar and he wants to fulfill some new objectives with the best players.
Messi has signed a two-year deal with PSG. Options have also been given to extend the agreement.
Messi will now wear the number 30 jersey in PSG. Messi, who has won the Ballon d’Or six times before, left Barcelona a few days ago. He arrived in Paris yesterday for an agreement. He was welcomed by thousands of supporters in Paris.
