Nepal gave PNG a huge target of 298 runs

Kathmandu – Nepal and Papua New Guinea (PNG) are playing in the tri-nation ODI series in the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2 at TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur.

Nepal has lost the toss and is now batting at 49.1 over. After losing all the wickets in the 1st over, they added 297 runs and managed to score 298 runs. Ashif scored the first century of his international cricket career for Nepal.

Along with this, Ashif has also completed 1000 runs in ODIs. He has become the second Nepali player to complete 1000 runs in ODIs. Earlier, captain Rohit Paudel had scored 1000 runs. Ashif was dismissed for 110 runs.

Kushal Bhurtel 45 and Gyanendra Malla were out for 11 runs and Kushal Malla got out for 2 runs today. This is the last series of ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. Nepal, remaining in the top three, will have to win all the remaining 4 matches to directly qualify for the World Cup in Zimbabwe in June/July.

Similarly, there is pressure to win two matches to maintain ODI status. UAE and Papua New Guinea are in the series along with home team Nepal. Nepal will play the same 2/2 match against UAE and Papua New Guinea.
