Real Madrid want £50m Sterling after Mbappe snub

Real Madrid have to test Manchester City star Raheem Sterling with summer bid.

According to reports, Real Madrid have become ‘desperate’ and they will target Manchester City and England attacker Raheem Sterling this summer.

The Spanish giants had looked set to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer this summer.

This is now off the table though as the World Cup winner has now signed a contract extension that will keep him at PSG until 2025.

Las Balansco are plotting a summer move for Raheem Sterling this summer, the Daily Star claims.

The Spanish side will make a £50 million bid for the Manchester City man as they look to strengthen their attack after Kylian Mbappe turned them down to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

Sterling has helped Man City win the Premier League title for the fourth time in five years this season.

He contributed with 13 goals and five assists from his 30 appearances in the league.

The Daily Star are reporting that Real Madrid ‘want to sign’ the Englishman ‘in a £50m deal’. His current City contract expires in 2023.

The La Liga side have been ‘long-term admirers of the England and Manchester City ace and will look to lure him to the Bernabeu’.

Real Madrid are said to be ‘desperate’ after missing out on Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Elsewhere, it is being reported that Harry Kane’s representatives ‘reached out’ to Man City earlier this year before the Premier League champions opted to sign Erling Haaland.

The Tottenham striker was a top target for the Citizens last summer but a move to the Etihad failed to materialise.

Spurs were looking for at least £150m for their star man, with City unwilling to meet that valuation.

Kane had a slow start to the season with many linking it to his failed transfer to City, but he found form after Antonio Conte’s arrival and finished the season with 17 goals and nine assists in the league.

Guardiola won’t be going back in for the England captain this summer having acquired the services of Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

However, The Times (via 90 min) have claimed that Kane’s camp came to City in early February – before a deal for Haaland was complete – regarding a summer transfer.

The Citizens told Kane’s representatives that they would not be pursuing a deal having sounded out the Norwegian youngster as their number one target.

The signing of Haaland was confirmed at the start of May after City activated the £51m buyout clause in his contract.
