KATHMANDU: Spain’s Rafael Nadal has ruled himself out of the Wimbledon semifinals.
Nadal, who was injured during the quarter-finals, has announced that he will not play in the semi-finals as he has not recovered. He was scheduled to play Australia’s Nick Kyrgios in the semifinals.
Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam winner, said he had tried hard to reach the semi-finals but was “very worried”.
Nadal has won the Australian and French Open titles this year. Nick said Percy will now play either Novak Djokovic or Cameron Nori on Sunday for the title.
On the women’s side, Tunisia’s Ons Jauber and Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina reached the final.
Tunisia’s Jauber also holds the record for being the first Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam final.
Rebakina also became the first female Kazakhstani to reach the final of any major women’s singles competition, according to the BBC.
