ACC Premier Cup: Preliminary Team Announcement

Kathmandu – Nepal’s initial team to play the ACC Premier Cup has been announced. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) today announced the 21-member preliminary squad for the Premier Cup.

Organized by Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the tournament will be held from 5th to 18th of Baisakh. The matches of the tournament will be held at Kirtipur ground and Mulpani. Nepal will play three matches in Kirtipur while one match will be played in Mulpani.

Nepal will play against Saudi Arabia in Mulpani on 11th Baisakh. Before that, Nepal will start the first match on May 5 against Malaysia at Kirtipur ground.

Nepal will play the second match against Oman on May 8th and against Qatar on May 14th at Kirtipur. 10 countries are participating in the competition.

The participating teams are:

Group A:

  1. Malaysia,
  2. Saudi Arabia,
  3. Qatar and
  4. Oman

Group B:

  1. Nepal
  2. Bahrain,
  3. Kuwait,
  4. Singapore,
  5. Hong Kong and
  6. UAE

The top team of this tournament will be selected for the Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan. The Asia Cup will be held in September.
