Kathmandu: India have defeated Pakistan by 228 runs after Virat Kohli passed 13,000 in one-day internationals en route to his 47th century and KL Rahul marked his return from injury with a ton in a lopsided Asia Cup Super Four clash in Colombo on Monday.
Today, Monday, India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs in Colombo. Chasing the huge target of 357 runs given by India, Pakistan managed to score only 128 runs in 32 overs.
Fakhar Zaman scored the highest 27 runs for Pakistan. Similarly, Agha Salman and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 23 runs. On the bowling side, Kuldeep Yadav of India took 5 wickets.
India, who lost the toss and were invited to bat, scored 356 runs after losing 2 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored centuries for India.
Kohli remained not out on 122 balls and Rahul on 111 balls. For the third wicket, Kohli and Rahul shared 233 runs in 194 balls.
Earlier, Shubman Gill scored 58 runs and captain Rahit Sharma scored 56 runs and got out. On the bowling side, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan took 1/1 wicket each.
