Chiring defeats Kuwaiti boxer to secure the medal

Kathmandu. Nepal’s Chiring Wangdi Sherpa defeated Kuwaiti boxer to clinch a medal at the ASBC Asian Youth and Junior Boxing Championship in the UAE.

In the junior event on Sunday, Chhiring defeated Mohammad Alineji Mohammad of Kuwait. Wangdi defeated Kuwaiti boxer 5-0 in the quarterfinal match of Bantam 54 kg.

After reaching the semi-finals, Chhiring secured at least a medal, said Nepal’s coach Deepak Maharjan. Maharjan said that Chhiring will now play in the semi-final tomorrow.

Swastika of Nepal has also secured a medal in the girls’ 52 kg category. He has only 4 players in the event.

Four Nepali players are participating in the championship. In which two players have been defeated.
