Kathmandu – The National Sports Council (NSC) today bid farewell to the 10-member Nepali team, including six athletes, who will participate in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix.
NSC Member-Secretary Tankalal Ghising bid them farewell at his office in Tripureshwor. Five male and one female players will present Nepal’s challenge in the competition to be held from March 7 to 14.
Nawaraj Karki and Govinda Giri will compete in the men’s 400m race, Himal Aryal and Faninarayan Poudel in the shot put, and Raju Gurung in the discus throw. Govinda will also compete in the javelin throw. Prabha Angdembe will participate in the women’s 200/400m race and long jump.
The officials include NSC members Anjana Shrestha and Muktinath Adhikari, the manager is Omnath Siwakoti, and the coach is Bimala Rana Magar. This is the second time Nepal has participated in Para Athletics in a month.
Nepal participated in the Grand Prix held in Dubai from February 4 to 14. Prabha and Nawaraj as players and Bimala as coach have been included in this team again. Based on their performance in Dubai, Prabha and Nawaraj have been included in the team again.
