Kathmandu: Nepal is in the top three and now has to win 7 matches out of 8 to play the World Cup directly in the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. In their last match yesterday, Namibia defeated UAE, this equation was made.
The top three teams of League-2 will be allowed to play directly in the World Cup qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe in June-July.
Scotland and Oman have qualified for the World Cup. Now there is a possibility of a team from Nepal, Namibia and UAE. Namibia has 39 points from 36 matches with 19 wins and 16 losses.
Nepal is in sixth place with 12 wins and 14 losses in 28 matches. UAE is fifth with 29 points from 28 matches with 13 wins and 12 losses.
Nepal will now play four matches against UAE and Papua New Guinea. Nepal needs to win 7 out of 8 matches to overtake Namibia.
Nepal will get 42 points if they win all the matches and 40 points if they win 7 matches. Nepal has to win 5 matches out of 8 to maintain the ODI status.
