Kolkata beat Delhi by 3 wickets in IPL

Kathmandu: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Sunil Narine’s all-round performance and Nitish Rana’s batting helped Kolkata beat Delhi.

Kolkata completed the target of 127 runs set by Delhi in 18.2 overs. For Kolkata, Nitish Rana played 27 balls and scored an unbeaten 36 runs with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Shubhaman Gill added 30 runs. Sunil Narine played 10 balls and contributed 21 runs with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes.

Opener Venkatesh Ayre scored 14 runs and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik scored 12 runs. Delhi’s Abhesh Khan took 3 wickets for 13 runs in 3 overs.

Batting first after losing the toss in Sharjah, Delhi lost nine wickets in 20 overs and scored 127 runs. For Delhi, opener Steve Smith and skipper Rishabh Pant top-scored with 39-39. Another opener Shikhar Dhawan added 24 runs. The rest of the players could not add runs in double figures.

Kolkata’s Sunil Narine took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Lucky Ferguson took 2 wickets for 10 runs in 2 overs. Venkatesh Ayre took 2 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs.

Kolkata, who have won their fifth match in 11 games, have added 10 points. Kolkata, in fourth place, has maintained its chances of reaching the qualifiers by remaining in the top four after today’s victory. Defeated Delhi is in second place with 16 points from 11 games.
