Nepal beats UAE by 3 wickets in play-off match

Kathmandu – Nepal defeated UAE by 3 wickets in the playoff semi-final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Nepal achieved the same target of 182 runs given by UAE in Harare, Zimbabwe, with the loss of 7 wickets in 43 overs and 2 balls.

Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airi scored 79 and Sandeep Lamichhane scored 23 not out. Nepal had lost 6 wickets when they made 66 runs.

After that, Sandeep and Dipendra won Nepal with an excellent partnership. Earlier, Nepal, who won the toss and chose to bowl in Zimbabwe’s Harare, bowled brilliantly.

Batting first, UAE were bowled out for 181 runs in 46.5 overs. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took 3/3 wickets.

Gulsan Jha, Pratish JC and Dipendra Singh Airi took 1 wicket each. Vritya Arvind top scored for UAE with 44 and Rohan Mustafa scored 35 runs.

Nepal will now play against Ireland in the final of the Percy Playoff.
