Kathmandu – Nepal has made a winning start in the tri-national T-20 international cricket series. Nepal defeated UAE by 7 wickets in the match at Moolpani Cricket Ground today, Wednesday.
Nepal met the target of 141 runs given by UAE by losing 3 wickets in 18 overs. Nepal’s captain Rahit Paidel scored a half century.
Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airi scored 34 runs. Both were not out. On the bowling side, Nilansh Keswani and Ali Naseer of UAE took 1/1 wicket.
Earlier, UAE, who lost the toss and were invited to bat at Moolpani Cricket Ground, scored 140 runs by losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
UAE’s Basil Hameed scored a half century. He was dismissed for 51 runs off 38 balls. Similarly, Ali Naseer scored 32 runs. On the bowling side, Nepal’s Karan KC took 3, Gulson Jha 2 and Sempal Kami and Avinash Baehra took 1/1 wicket each.
Tri-nation T-20 series organized by Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) will start today from Wednesday. Nepal has organized the tournament as a preparation for T20 International Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.
Nepal will play its next match against Hong Kong on Thursday. Similarly, they will play against Hong Kong again on October 4th and UAE again on October 6th.
