Kathmandu: Nepal defeated West Indies A by 4 wickets in the first T20I match on captain Rohit Paudel’s century.

Rohit Paudel played a century innings of 112 runs in 54 balls with 10 fours and 6 sixes. When Nepal needed 13 runs off 8 balls, Rohit was caught out by wicketkeeper Andre Fletcher off Matthew Ford.

Rohit, who completed his half-century in 27 balls, scored a century in 47 balls. This was the first century of his T20 career.

Opener Anil Shah 5, Kushal Malla and Kushal Bhurtel were out for 16 runs each. Dipendrasingh Airey was out for 24 with 2 fours and 1 six off 18 balls and Vivek Yadav was out for 7 runs.

Obed McCoy of West Indies took 2 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs. Mathew Ford took 2 wickets and Kimo Paul took 1 wicket.

After losing the toss, West Indies A scored 204 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs after losing the toss.

Nepal needed 9 runs to win in the last 6 balls. In the first two balls, Oshan Thomas gave one run each to Pratish JC and Gulsan Jha.

In the third ball, after Gulson hit a boundary at long-off, 3 runs were needed in 3 balls. He won the game by hitting a four on the next ball. Gulson remained not out for 9 and Pratish 5 runs.

Casey Carty was dismissed for 38 off 26 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Kadeem Allian remained not out for 14 runs with 15 balls and 2 fours.

Nepal’s Kamal Singh Airi, Dipendra Singh Airi, Rohit Paudel and Abhinash Bohra took 1 wicket each.

The second T20 match between Nepal and West Indies A will be held on Sunday.
